Video – tape projection

This video shows a right pneumonectomy, in combination with carinal resection and end to end anastomosis of the left main bronchus with the lower trachea.
The young female patient had the diagnosis of typical carcinoid of the right main bronchus with the infiltration of the main carina.
The postoperative chest X-ray shows a typical postoperative image after right pneumonectomy.
The bronchoscopy shows that the left main bronchus is the continuity of the trachea.
Although the patient had an infiltrated pretracheal lymph node, she is still doing well, without any sign of local or metastatic disease, five years postoperatively.
